Cabin2

We had a wonderful 10 days at The Oaks Resort on Spider Lake. The lake is perfect and we rented a pontoon, which is the best way to see it. Owners, Kathleen and Tom were helpful and live nearby so are able to be on site regularly in case you have questions. Cabin was cozy and well equipped, with a comfortable screened front porch and an outside deck. We had a wonderful view of the lake. We will be returning next year

Soccer Tournament Weekend Stay

We stayed in the house for the weekend while attending a soccer tournament in Traverse City. We had 3 families in this perfect 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house. There was plenty of room and lots of activities for everyone. The kids played games and went on all the water equipment (paddle board, paddle boat, kayaks, canoe and swam out to the island that was about 1/4 mile out.) The adults enjoyed the back deck, bonfire pit and pontoon boat. We were pleasantly suprised to have a/c in the living room! It was still needed at the end of September. This house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy a fun weekend with our soccer families. We would definately stay again!

Great Place

Donna and I spent the week after an "up north" family reunion (all four kids and seven grandkids) at Oaks Landing. Obviously we needed rest and rehabilitation. Well this place was just great: a simple, comfortable cabin with a great view of Spider Lake and easy access to Traverse City restaurants. There were kayaks, etc. a plenty, but we just chilled. A very important "also" are Deb and Mike Simo. They are gracious hosts and we enjoyed conversations over wine with them often. I give Oaks Landings a double thumbs up! Mac

Family Fun

Our family brought nine adults and six children ages 2-7 to Oaks Landing the first week in August. We could not have had a more fun, memorable stay. All of the children played from morning until late evening when they all immediately dropped off to sleep. We kayaked, swam, fished, peddle boated, rowed and had lots of squirt gun time. The adults enjoyed walks, activities with the little ones, as well as sun, float time and r &or. Evenings on the docks were beautiful. One of our travelers brought a fishing boat - put in near by and docked at the Landing. We missed our day at Sleeping Bear Dunes due to a storm. All were content and occupied at Oaks. The grounds and cabins are immaculate, and well maintained. Deb and Mike are great hosts making all feel welcome. After many years spent in the area, they have a wealth of knowledge about the area, things to do and see.

Our Week at Oaks 4!

My wife and I brought our two year old son to stay for a week at Mike and Deb's Oaks Landing Resort from July 8-14th. We stayed in Oaks 4, which was way too big for just the 3 of us, but it was good to have room to stretch out and relax! We gleaned tips from Mike about what to do in Traverse City and Spider Lake, as it was my first time being there. We wouldn't have found Peegeo's without him! We took the paddleboat out around the lake and spent a lot of time at the little island not far from the Oaks dock. The weather was great, having just cooled down after a heat wave, and we slept wonderfully with the windows open and the cool lake breeze floating in. We met some regulars staying at the other cabins, and it was nice to hear their stories about the Oaks over the years. We enjoyed walking around Greilick Road in the morning, just enjoying the silence and tranquility. The lake is like glass in the morning before the boaters and sun seekers come out...I spent at least an hour a day sitting on the dock and taking it all in before we left to see the sights of Traverse City. We had such a great time at the Oaks Landing, we only wish we could have met Deb as well. There's always next year! Thanks again Mike and Deb for such a wonderful experience...the White family loves the Oaks Landing Resort!

The Oaks Resort

The Oaks Resort; We are a family of four with two boys aged 13 and 9. We stayed at the Oaks resort the last week of August, the weather was perfect. Our boys really enjoyed the big dock and floating dock where they were fishing every morning and evening. Swimming from the dock to the State park island located directly across from the resort was a lot of fun and good exercise! In the morning there is no traffic on the lake so it was safe to swim across, in the afternoon there were jet skis and small boats buzzing by. The resort has two row boats and one paddle boat available. We enjoyed both which were included in the price of the cottage rental, my boys enjoyed peddling around the lake for hours and fishing. The good part about the lake is the good fishing is right in front of the resort! We caught large mouth, small mouth and perch, we saw other fishermen catching pike close by. We really enjoyed our stay at the Oakes, Mike and Debra are great hosts and made us feel comfortable. We choose to eat in everyday and enjoy the view from the deck. However there are many restaurants close by in Traverse city. It is worth a day trip to go to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Fish city to enjoy the views on one of the nicest parks we have ever seen. The cottage we stayed in is perfect for a family of four. The view from the deck in the morning is priceless. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had, while still doing lots of fun activities for our boys. We will be coming back again next year.
